Waterside’s Festive Spirit Days
Published on January 4, 2018
Throughout December, Waterside Retirement Community in Carleton Place hosted a series of Festive Spirit Days, in anticipation of the Holiday Season, starting with Christmas Sock Day, followed by Festive Sweater Day, Elf Day, and, of course, a classic Red & Green Day. You could hear the laughter on Sock Day as people wore their pants tucked into their socks, showing off their snazzy Christmas ankle wear. Festive Sweater Day, unofficially known as “Ugly Christmas Sweater Day”, brought out the Christmas spirit as both Team Members and Community Members wore their colourful sweaters with pride. During Elf Day, our Jolly Michaela created and distributed elf names to Community Members for all to enjoy – from Jolly Joyburg to Chipper Sugarkin; everyone loved their new name. A special guest popped in to stir a little trouble on Red and Green Day. The Grinch himself showed up and moped around from there to here, getting mad at the holiday cheer. But you know how it goes, and what they all say: “That the Grinch’s small heart grew three sizes that day.”
