National Pie Day

To celebrate national pie day, we created a “Poetry and Pie’ event where Community Members enjoyed a variety of delicious pies while reading poems from various Canadian artists. We decided it would be just as fun to write our own poetry – so we did! After collectively gathering words and then eloquently stringing them together, we produced a master piece! About, you guessed it: Pie! Enjoy the poem below (pie not included).
Pie Day

Today is Pie Day, so everything will be ok,
Even if the sky is grey.
Pies are round, tasty and delicious,
Especially if you don’t need to do the dishes.
Sweet aroma in Mama’s kitchen,
It’s delicious, calming and upliftin’
Top it off with ice cream or cheddar,
Life couldn’t get much better.
We bring our friends to gather together
Because pie makes everything better.
